Shaheen Afridi | Lahore captain: (On his promotion to no.6 in batting) Reason was that we lost many early wickets and we needed to lengthen the batting, so I decided to go in there and try my best. There are games like these where you lose a lot of wickets early but what’s important is for everyone to stick together. Raza and Rashid put their hands up today. The idea was to bowl your habituated lengths on this pitch and let the surface do the rest.
Sikandar Raza | Player of the Match: My plan was quite clear. I wanted to go hard. I didn’t think that just batting out the overs and getting 110 was going to help us win. I just needed someone to bat along with me and fortunately Rashid did that. We eventually got 149, I thought maybe 10 runs short we were but nice to get the win. Me and Rashid agreed that we need to put pressure on the bowlers. There were a few overs where we didn’t get boundaries but then we got one or two each over for a few overs. Was just telling Rashid yesterday that we’ve had some really good partnerships whenever we bat together, none more important than today. The fact that we run hard also helped us. The pitch was a bit two-paced, there was variable bounce and we always knew that we had a chance of defending 148.
Aaqib Javed | Lahore Qalandars Head Coach – It was an amazing win, this is what Rashid does, bring something with the ball. It’s good for the team and for Shaheen, each and everyone contributed. Bowlers win you tournaments, no one can have a bowling attack like this, not even international teams. Sikander Raza is a brave man, he and Rashid have been a blessing for us. The crowd has backed Lahore a lot.
Sarfaraz Ahmed | Quetta captain: Yeah, wasn’t a great day for us. We did bowl well, got them to 50/7 but then we let them get to 148. Can’t give any good side that chance to come back in the game. We didn’t bat that well either, especially in the middle overs where there were too many dot balls. Still felt that we could have gotten 52 off the last five if we had wickets in hand but wickets kept falling.
