Jos Buttler:“Coming here in good form, on a nice wicket, and with permission to attack, the IPL could not have gone better for me. The World T20 went well, the Ashes were challenging, I took two months off from cricket, which was really reviving, and I went into the IPL full of enthusiasm, energy, and the desire to perform at your absolute best.
England vs Netherlands 1st ODI Highlights 17 June 2022
Pieter Seelaar:Jason Roy’s release was a positive development. The best batsman in the world cannot be dropped twice in a single over due to such dropped catches. This wasn’t really required, given that we let ourselves down. It’s different if we bring him in with two outs in the twentieth over. Although we will become better cricket players as a result of this, the intimidation was present and the Barmy Army was loud, so we had to gather ourselves and return on Sunday. Though it’s difficult right now, it’s good learning if it helps us become better cricket players.
Eoin Morgan:The previous few days have been fantastic; most of the senior players have contributed, with Phil Salt and Malan making their ODI debuts and Jos being in a league of his own. It’s never anything we get tired of. He is currently the best white-ball player in the world because of it. It’s encouraging to witness the team’s hunger, and the best part is that nobody takes their participation in this team for granted. We should practise fielding for 50 overs to get better at it because we won’t know what to expect the next year. We’ve put forth a lot of effort.
